Rover Discovers Metallic Object on Mars

The photographs taken by cameras on Mars rover Curiosity tend to be rather dull.  Rocks… rocks… dirt… rocks.

But in new images released by NASA, it appears Curiosity has discovered a metallic looking object sticking out of a rock, which makes the rock a lot less boring.

The image was spotted by an Italian photo editor named Elisabetta Bonora.

Some are calling the object a “metal finger” or a “door handle”.  I personally think it looks like a little tiny robotic tyrannosaurus rex.

According to Get More Info, the shiny thing is is probably about 0.5 cm tall, or even smaller.

Here’s the raw shot of the area.  You can just barely see the object near the top of the photo.
