Almost exactly one year ago, I embarked upon a little project named Extraordinary Intelligence.  It was to be a web site dedicated to my favorite subject matter, The Unexplained and The Unknown.  I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best… not knowing whether or not the site would be successful, but vowing to dedicate myself to nurturing its growth.

Hasbro games, the makers of the infamous Ouija Board “board game”, have introduced a new version of the classic conjuring “toy”, targeted directly at young girls.

Now, while some may consider this to be a harmless sleepover game, others find the trend in “normalizing” the Ouija Board quite disturbing.  And there has been quite an uproar regarding this latest addition to the Ouija line.  Many people feel that the board is a dangerous tool, and if used casually, can open gates or portals that would allow {more. . .)

Everyone’s favorite late night radio host, George Noory, host of Coast to Coast Am, was recently featured on ABC network’s Nightline.

For those who don’t know, Coast to Coast Am is a 4 hour talk radio program that broadcasts 7 nights a week to a world wide audience.   The subject matter on the show ranges from Paranormal encounters, to Government Conspiracies, to Earth changes… anything that involves the “unknown”.  I have been listening to C2C for years, and find the information presented to be both {more. . .)

I’ve always embraced my own inner geek… but every once in a while I get a self inflicted reminder as to the precise level of nerd-girl-ishness that I’ve acquired.  Case in point. I’d heard on the radio about an object that was recently photographed by the Hubble Telescope.  Apparently, it resembled some kind of spacecraft.  Of course, I had to run home and Google it.

On Monday, January 25, a rally was held in Austin, Texas by Texans for Accountable Governments APD.  Designed to be a peaceful protest in favor of the 2nd Amendment and against the Austin police force’s cooperation with the attempt to illegally shut down private gun sales at guns shows in Austin, the rally featured a small group of gathered protesters, predetermined speakers, and some media coverage.

Actress Zelda Rubinstein, best known for her unforgettable role as psychic Tangina Barrons in the 1982 film Poltergeist, has passed away at the age of 76.  Her agent, Eric Stevens, told reporters that Rubinstein died Wednesday at a Los Angeles hospital. He confirms that she had recently suffered a heart attack.

Torture is a word we hear a lot lately.  How do we define it? Who deserves it? Where is the line drawn?

As you likely know, Anton Szandor LaVey was the American founder and High Priest of the Church of Satan. He was also a writer, a musician, and a provocateur.

The Brandon Corey Story is a strange “documentary” that was released by Truthseeker.tv.  Although those involved in its production have all come forward to reveal that it is actually a “recreation” of real events, and not real footage, debate still rages online as to whether or not the film you are about to see is real.  How very Blair Witchy of them.

Well, truthfully most of us probably fall somewhere in the middle. We’re nervous but skeptical enough to have grown weary of the constant coverage. But, what do we really know about his illness that seems to be spreading like wildfire across the globe? And how much of what we know is accurate?

I love bats. They’re my second favorite animal. My first love is for cats. Sadly, I am not fond of rats. But it would have made a nice trifecta if I did, yes?

Bats have always been a source of wonder and inspiration for me. They’re just…beautiful and magical creatures. There are a few precious bats that hang out in the entry to my building. They flitter around in the lamp light, and I just love to watch them.

I love this. Telegraph.co.uk is reporting that the Natural History Museum in London has a deal with bookmakers William Hill that if the Loch Ness Monster is ever captured, they will get the right to display the carcass/evidence.

The deal, brokered in 1987, specifies that the NHM will be able to display Nessie’s remains in exchange for scientific verification of her existence.

Word of this strange bargain came to light with the release of once private documents in the museum’s archives. It shows that part of the {more. . .)
