London Natural History Museum Secures Rights to the Loch Ness Monster

September 15, 2009 by natalina

I love this. Telegraph.co.uk is reporting that the Natural History Museum in London has a deal with bookmakers William Hill that if the Loch Ness Monster is ever captured, they will get the right to display the carcass/evidence.

The deal, brokered in 1987, specifies that the NHM will be able to display Nessie’s remains in exchange for scientific verification of her existence.

Word of this strange bargain came to light with the release of once private documents in the museum’s archives. It shows that part of the {more. . .)

Scientists baffled by “Alien Baby”

In 2007, Marao Lopez discovered a strange creature on his farm in Mexico.  Frightened by the otherworldly appearance of the small beast, he decided to drown it.  He claims that he held it under water for hours before it finally died.

The mysterious creature was handed over to scientists at the end of last year, and they’ve been analyzing it ever since.

Their results are astonishing! It seems that through DNA tests and scans of the carcass, the conclusion is that this bizarre {more. . .)

Natalina wants to believe

I’m going to file this story under….AWESOME!!!  Crypto-enthusiasts are going ballistic about the latest bit of potential evidence for the existence of Scotland’s own Nessie.

Jason Cooke, a reader of The Sun, spotted what just might be the elusive Loch Ness Monster while checking out the Loch on Google Earth. To see the object, enter co-ordinates Latitude 57°12′52.13″N, Longitude 4°34′14.16″W in Google Earth, and zoom in.

The Elusive Muck Monster

August 22, 2009 by natalina

Something has been making waves in Palm Beach County, Florida.

The Lake Worth Lagoon has been the site of some recent strange activity.  It seems that a mysterious creature is swimming just below the surface of the murky water.  Greg Reynolds of LagoonKeepers.org captured a bit video footage of the creature’s wake, and people have been trying to identify it ever since.  Thomas Reinert, a marine expert, studied the footage as well as other eye witness reports, and was unable to make an identification.

El Chupacabra: Mythical Monster or Major Disappointment?

July 19, 2009 by natalina

I need to start this post by stating that I received the inspiration from my friend Tom, also known as DJ Tommy Fly Pants (Actually, I’m the only person who calls him that!), who inquired as to why I’ve never featured this sweetheart of the cryptozoological world on Extraordinary Intelligence.

El Chupacabra has captured the fancy of more than a few seekers of the unknown.  First of all, it is really fun to say.  Ellll Chupacabrrrrra! I think that’s one of the major selling points.  For {more. . .)

American Werewolf Follow-up: Michigan Dogman

July 14, 2009 by natalina

Well, I got quite a reaction to the post American Werewolf: The Beast of Bray Road.   In light of some of the comments  I’ve received here on the blog,  via Myspace messages, via Twitter messages, and email, (I even had one fella email me and claim that he IS a werewolf!) I’ve decided to quickly revisit the topic and explore a few more points, as well as a bit of evidence that I missed previously.

An eyewitness snapped this photo, which they claim shows a beast {more. . .)

American Werewolf: The Beast of Bray Road

July 13, 2009 by natalina

There are a few monsters that we’ve come to safely believe are pure fiction.  Vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc.  All of these are figments of creative imagination, right?  They don’t actually exist…. do they?

Well, there are a few people in Wisconsin that might challenge that notion.  You see, Wisconsin is known for something other than their beautiful Dells, football, and cheese.  It also just so happens that Wisconsin has its very own werewolf legend, and there are those that believe that this beast is very very real.

Blogsquatcher: Bigfoot likes to Boogie!

July 3, 2009 by natalina
Filed under Cryptozoology, Funny Stuff, The Unexplained

This has to be the cutest headline I’ve seen in a long time!  According to Blogsquatcher:

When looking for bigfoot, try shaking yer booty..

Now, Blogsquatcher is merely addressing an article written in the Idyllwild Town Crier Online which contends that Bigfoot is partial to a little Motown, and has a particular love for Aretha Franklin.  The Idyllwild article is silly and delves deeply into some very weird territory, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this fun mental image as we head into the weekend!

The Elusive American Kangaroo?

One of the most incredible animals I’ve ever seen is the kangaroo.  Well, that statement is a little misleading, because I’ve never actually seen a kangaroo in real life…but I’ve always wanted to.

Imagine my delight when I read about cases of this magnificent marsupial being sighted right here in the United States!  Unbelievable?  Well, not to those who claim to have witnessed them with their own eyes.  The kangaroo is native to Australia, and yet there is a phenomena in North America known as the {more. . .)
