Becoming Bashar: Masquerading as an Angel of Light
“… for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14
In light of current events, one would presume that Googling the word “Bashar” would lead with endless results for President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad. Rather, we find that the top result is the uchicago essays PA for an entity named Bashar, as “channeled” by a man named Darryl Anka.
Bashar has been on my radar for many years, and I’d be remiss if I did not disclose that I used to find his “revelations” and affirmations to be quite inspirational. His explanations about how the universe works and how we all have the ability to tap into cosmic powers in an effort to literally shape our own reality are perhaps as silly as they are seductive, yet he’s managed to amass a legion of followers who hang on his every word.
Bashar claims to be an extra-terrestrial from the distant future. His chosen vessel to communicate with humans in our time is Darryl Anka. Darryl and Bashar have been working together for 30 years. They claim to have shown thousands of people how to achieve:
– Enhanced creativity & abundance
– Mental & emotional clarity
– Improved health
– Enhanced love relationships
– Expanded psychic ability
– Increased self love & self acceptance
– Greater self-empowerment
While adherents to Bashar/Darryl’s methods purport to be focused on universal love and light, their goals come straight out of Satan’s handbook. Literally! The Satanic Bible is nothing if not a book written about self love, self worship, and tapping into latent powers hidden within the SELF. Likewise, New Age enthusiasts glory in the power of the self, and relish the opportunity to enhance their personal status of “godhood”. It was the first lie, and it will be the last. “Ye shall be as gods…” (Genesis 3:5)
Now, I believe that there are lying and deceiving spirits that can trick people into believing that they are channeled ET’s or Angels. But in this particular case, I don’t believe we’re dealing with a man possessed by a spirit (beyond the spirit of hubris and deceit). I believe Darryl Anka is faking, and proceeded to build his empire upon the gullibility of his brain numbed audience.
Who is Darryl Anka?
Like many successful cult leaders, Darryl Anka comes from the entertainment industry. Having a levitra vs cialis that includes being a special effects technician on Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979 and a model maker for the 1978-1979 TV Series narrative essay definition (go figure), Darryl’s imagination combined with an inside view of how to captivate an audience, made his brain the perfect playground for dreaming up the idea of Bashar. Reminds me of the famous quote by infamous Scientology founder, and fellow entertainment industry insider, L Ron Hubbard (As quoted in the Los Angeles Times, 27 August 1978): “If a man really wanted to make a million dollars, the best way to do it would be start his own religion. “
Side bar: Darryl Anka is the cousin of world famous singer Paul Anka. (Anka’s Cousin has an Odd Career)
Anka claims that in the early 70’s, he had two separate, broad daylight sightings of triangular UFOs. This made him ponder the existence of E.T.’s but it wasn’t until years later in the early 80’s that he learned that he was destined to be a channel. As he describes it, he attended a channeling seminar, where he witnessed an E.T. being trance channeled through a medium. That entity offered to teach mediumship for whomever was interested. Anka took the entity up on its offer, and proceeded to learn guided meditation techniques. He says that while in an altered state, Bashar made a connection with him, and helped him to realize that the UFO sightings were actually meant to trigger a “soul memory” – making Anka more receptive to the concept of mediumship, which led him to the tutelage of the entity he was presently with. Bashar taught Anka that in a past life or past existence, he’d made an arrangement to be a medium for Bashar in this life. Bashar asked Anka if he was still up for it, Anka said yes, and the rest is history.
What follows is an early appearance by Anka. It is long but the interesting part is at the beginning when he discusses how Bashar first appeared.
The character of Bashar has evolved over the years. In early sessions, Bashar had a larger personality and a thicker accent. More recent Bashar recordings show that this behavior has relaxed somewhat. Regardless, here is what we know about Bashar, from Bashar.
Bashar is an extra-terrestrial from a different dimension. He comes from “What we perceive as the future.” Bashar often points out when he is using words or terms that appeal to our perception, implying that they aren’t exactly accurate.
Now then, as if I haven’t confused you enough… “Bashar” isn’t actually the entity’s name. Anka says that when he first channeled the being, the word “Bashar” came along with it and he presumed it was the name of the being. This is why he simply refers to him as such. But, he says “Bashar” is actually a word that means “messenger” in Arabic, and Anka presumes that the entity chose that name due to its definition, although on Bashar’s planet they don’t actually use names.
Since Bashar’s debut, Anka has traveled throughout the United States and around the world to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, England, Egypt and Greece. Through it all, the dynamic duo have been received with acclaim from New Agers and beyond. Bashar’s influence has had a remarkable reach, filling vulnerable minds with thoughts of personal divinity and universal oneness.
By way of disclaimer, Anka has taken to reminding people that it is possible that Bashar does not even exist as a separate entity. In an interview HERE, Anka says that it is ok if people don’t believe that Bashar is real or if he’s a figment of Anka’s imagination. On his website he says, “I always make it clear to people that they do not have to believe that “Bashar” is really an extraterrestrial in telepathic communication with me during the channelings. If they want to believe the words are coming from another part of my own consciousness, that’s fine with me. I have no way of proving “Bashar’s” existence to anyone anyway. The most important thing is that the information, wherever it’s coming from, has made a difference in many people’s lives, including my own.”
There are lots of reasons to suspect that Anka is not merely the puppet of a literal lying spirit (please understand, I differentiate between a spirit of deception and a spirit that is literally possessing and speaking through Anka without his control). To me, the most obvious example is Bashar’s changing delivery style. When one looks at earlier footage of Bashar, he has a thick accent and animated personality. In more recent footage, Bashar basically just sounds slightly louder than Anka himself. This same thing can be witnessed by other fakers like the infamous JZ Knight and her “channeled” ancient, Ramtha.
Further, I would surmise that if a 300 year old multi-dimensional extra-terrestrial were to be able to traverse space and time to channel through a mere earthling and telepathically understand English, he should also be able to translate other Earth languages. Apparently not. In the following video, you’ll hear that Bashar needs a translator to understand questions from a Japanese audience. Comical. (Bashar in Japan)
Further still, Bashar.. an ET from the future who knows all and sees all, has made a variety of failed predictions. And it isn’t just hearsay. We can prove it. In 1998, Bashar claimed that there was a chamber in the foot of the Sphinx, and that it would be uncovered within “most likely 2 to 3 years.” The chamber was supposed to hold the secrets to most of human existence including information about Atlantis. It never happened. And lest anyone argue that perhaps it DID happen and no one told us about it, Bashar makes it VERY clear that this would be public knowledge. Hear the failed prediction below: (also notice him fade in and out of an accent)
Why Should I Care?
Some may wonder why I bother with posts of this nature. Having come out of the New Age myself, I understand the bizarre seduction of what folks like Darryl Anka are selling. My audience consists of both Christians and non-believers. I feel compelled to expose deception wherever I see it. For years I promoted this type of lie. No longer.
The bottom line is that Darryl Anka is promoting a false Gospel. All New Age philosophies lead back to the same scenario. You can be a god. You are a god and you just don’t know it yet. You can attain godlike status. Ye shall be as gods. In every single instance, it is about the promotion of oneself over the true God of the Bible.
When asked about the nature of Jesus, Bashar had this to say:
When your Jesus said I Am the Way, he did not mean follow him in a religious context. He meant, be the way I am! Because you are that way. So, the idea also is for all of you to understand that this is what the so called Second Coming actually is. Is the awakening within each and every one of you, of your own Christ Consciousness. Of your own Buddha nature. Your own Krishna spirit. Your own holy Wovoka. All of that is all who you are and you’ve created reflections down through the ages to guide you, to remind you. But because of the disconnection in your consciousness, it didn’t always take.
In New Age circles, the concept of “Christ Consciousness” has always been a part of the vernacular, and it is by no means meant to be understood as a Christian concept. “Christ Consciousness” has to do with recognizing the divinity of self, apart from any higher power. Popularly used in public channels, Christ Consciousness has always had a flowery appeal to it. Many vulnerable Christians have been sucked into New Age cults by the inclusion of Jesus Christ within the philosophy. It is interesting to note that while the public face of such figures refer primarily to “Christ Consciousness”, within their own circles they’re often more likely to be referred to as “Integrated Melchizedek/Christ/Buddha” levels of enlightenment. Same thing. All bad.
The point is, Darryl Anka and his Bashar show are really nothing more than recycled and regurgitated New Age cult jargon wrapped in a charismatic package, presenting nothing new to anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the New Age and the occult.
Anka promotes the alien deception by encouraging people that ET’s are benevolent helpers, and that even though abduction experiences (Bashar hates the word “abduction” and prefers “detainment”) can be scary, they are normal and are the result of a commitment the experiencer (soul agreements) made in a previous existence to volunteer for such “research”. In other words, it is your fault that it is happening, and it is for the greater good of humanity and aliens alike. Deal with it. Bashar claims that 47% of humans alive right now are part of the “abduction program”, and the ET’s have created 5 full civilizations of hybrids that have come out of the program.
The biggest danger of all of this has nothing to do with whether or not Anka is legitimately channeling anything or anyone. The real problem is that Anka and Bashar have amassed a giant following over the years. He encourages each and every one of his followers to open themselves to become a channel. He claims that we are gods and there are no gods before us. Anka tells us that we existed previously and made deals with aliens, allowing them to abduct us, impregnate us, steal our children, and create new societies of hybrids. He tells us to release all connection to “religious” figures like Jesus, because we ARE Christ, and he has led millions to believe that their personal divinity trumps any notion of God Almighty. THAT is why you should care.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; ” 2 Corinthians 10: 5
It is easy to presume that adherents to New Age cults like the cult of Bashar are harmless. They look like hippies, and they aren’t hurting anyone, right? Check out this video made by one of Bashar’s vocal and avid followers, Bridget Neilson:
It seems so silly, but this is dangerous and seductive rhetoric to those who are susceptible to the exotic and exciting ideas within this world of the New Age. Bridget is just one of millions who not only whole heartedly follow Bashar, but they have opened themselves up to be channels as well, letting in God knows what to further deceive them, and to use them to further deceive others. We are seeing more and more of this. It is not going away.
It is my opinion that while many Christians look to the geo-political realm for signs that we’re soon to enter the age of the Antichrist, I find that the momentum of the New Age is an even more telling precursor. Afterall, we can expect that there will emerge a false prophet along with the Antichrist who will convince the populace of all nations and tribes to worship the beast. (Revelation 13:11-15). I think it is likely that this will be far easier to achieve if millions are already convinced that all roads and religions lead to the same “god”.
If you know someone who is dabbling in the New Age UFO cult realm, use whatever it takes to snap them out of it. Prove their “guru” is a fraud, prove that their “abductions” are not wholesome experiences, prove that opening oneself up to be used as a channel is a reckless and dangerous practice, most importantly – share the Gospel with them. Get to know them and learn what they may be receptive to. If it is love they are after, show them how the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ is the height of sacrificial and Holy agape love. If you don’t know what to say to them, encourage them to contact me, and I will do my best to help them from the perspective of one who has been there done that. You can contact me via the link at the top of this page. Whatever you do, don’t presume they’ll “grow out of it” or that it is “just a phase.” Pray for them and try to get them out now. You can also contact me if you have someone specific you’d like me to pray for. I will add them to my list and earnestly pray for their freedom from the bondage of the New Age.
