My Extraordinarily Bizarre World

I’ve been having so much fun with my camera.  I recently did a few posts on my personal blog about items around my home and things to see in my city.  However, when I showed them to my brother, this was his reaction…

“You didn’t even show all of your cool stuff.  The kind of stuff you have that makes me a little creeped out whenever I come over.  I mean that in a good way.”

Well, I figured these things would be more appropriate for Extraordinary Intelligence, to give a little voyeuristic peek at my lair.  I’m a nutty individual, and my possessions generally reflect that.  You’ll see what I mean..

(Every one of these items is clickable to a much larger image, so if you’d like a more detailed look at these interesting items, click on the picture)

This was actually a puzzle.  I didn’t put it together.  A friend of mine did, and then she decided she no longer wanted it.  I took it because… I like disembodied heads??  I don’t know, I just thought it was cool.

I bought this old mirror at a rummage sale.  For some reason, even though it was old and worn, I had to have it.  Ever since, it has given me the willies.   There’s something about it that I don’t like.  But… I keep it on the wall, anyway.

Essential reading, of course!

I love collecting dolls.  And the weirder they are, the better!  Here’s a selection of a few of the creepier ones.

This is just a random shelf in my living room.  A collection of strange items and polished stones.

Nothing too exciting about this stuff, except the fact that this basket in my kitchen has a big spider on it!  I hate spiders, but I love this basket!  By the way, those are not crumbs you see all over my counter top..it’s classy 70′s style gold fleck Formica! You’re jealous, aren’t you?

This is my stack of DVDs that I intend to watch within the next week or so.  I have so many movies and I keep buying more, so my goal is to get through some of these before I allow myself to make any more purchases.  Many of these movies I’ve seen, but not for a long time.  There are a couple here though that will be new to me!  Exciting!! (Clicking on this image will help to see the titles better)

This collection of books should show anyone who enjoys a good conspiracy or paranormal encounter that Natalina is no joke!  I love this stuff that I blog about.  This is my bedside collection.  Hey Cheryl, look what’s on top of the stack. Yeah, I finally got it from Amazon, and I’m going to watch a few episodes every night in bed!  Can’t wait! (Again, click on the image to enlarge and get a better view at my eccentric collection!)

These are Indian prayer bells and chimes that are said to ward off evil.  Gift from a friend.  I’ve got them hanging from the ceiling in my doorway.

And of course, when I look back at my collection, I might be worried that I’m just a little too odd.  But then, I just look at the following plaque given to me by a close friend, and I feel better.

Now, what I’d really love is for you to share some of the strange items around your home!  We’re all a little wacky around here, and I’d love to see what you’ve got.  Can you top Natalina in the weirdness category?  Challenge!!!

I love these. You really do have a bizarre little collection of oddities. And I thought I was weird having framed photographs of headstones in my bedroom…yes OK that is weird ;)

    2. Cheryl says:

PS: You’ll love True Blood. I can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

    3. Natalina says:

Framed pictures of headstones??? You’re so cool! No wonder I like you :)

OH I cannot wait to start True Blood. I’ll give you my full analysis once I’m done!

You are a fascinating little girl. What a weird collection of stuff. The name of one of those books Cabinet of Curiosities, that seems to sum you right up and I like it.

    5. Natalina says:

Tim, what an interesting comment. Yes, I’m a little strange, I suppose :)

      Glad you’re a fan!

I do not like the way those dolls are looking at me. I love your choice of movies. Please tell me this won’t be your first time watching Romero’s Dawn of the Dead! I love your blog. Keep it up.

    7. Bruno Dante says:

Seven Doors of Death is an edited version of http://www.horrorphile.net/the-beyond/ my favourite Lucio Fulci flick.
I wanna get myself a copy of Suddenly, Last Summer too!
I just got the first season of True Blood also, haven’t started it yet …

    8. natalina says:

Bruno…you’re kidding! Well, I’ll just have to get The Beyond. A friend sent that one to me. Darn it!

Suddenly, Last Summer is a phenomenal movie. I LOVE it!

I started watching True Blood. It is sooo good so far! I thought perhaps it would lean a little cheesy, but it’s really good!

    9. natalina says:

      Hey Alexander,

Those dolls are only looking at you funny because they are really high up on a shelf and I’m really short so it’s a shot from my perspective! Kinda adds to the creepiness from that angle!

And I have totally seen Dawn of the Dead, but I just got that collector’s edition, so I’m going to watch it again.

Thanks for the compliment on the blog. Hope to see you around again!

Bruno, that link to the review doesn’t work :( And I can’t find the review on Horrorphile.net anywhere!

    11. Mr Nice Guy says:

      Hey Cheryl

      Thanks for the tour -

    12. natalina says:

      Well, actually, it’s Natalina…but you’re welcome ;)
