Extraordinary Thursday Videos: Occultism and Magic

This week’s selection of videos will feature a subject of immense fascination for me. The word OCCULT means different things to different people. For some, it just means evil. For others, occultism is a study of magic, ancient wisdom, arcane symbolism, and supernatural possibilities.
Please remember that just because I post a video here, it does not necessarily reflect my beliefs. I am merely presenting a nice cross section of information and ideas for you to sink in and soak up. You may observe a bit of my own fascination with the wild documentaries of the 70′s and 80′s from my own collection. Enjoy!
The Occult Experience. (1985 video. Extremely interesting section within about artist H.R. Giger, as well as interviews with founders of the Temple of Set Michael Aquino and Lillith Aquino. Nudity.)
Occult Experience (1970 Video…fascinating, with that great 70′s vibe. Some nudity and sexual content. Features footage of Church of Satan ceremony with Anton LaVey. While not an entirely accurate representation of Occultists, it is simply divine to watch, and the music is phenomenal! I’ve always loved this one!!)

Hitler certainly was a master of propaganda. That was a fascinating vid Natalina. Where did you pick that up from?
Interesting wasn’t it, Doc? I have a little collection of odd videos..mostly on VHS as they are rarely released on DVD. The great part is that all of these rare docs can now be found on video.google.com. If they aren’t there, I upload them myself!
I agree how the term “occult” means different things to different people. For some it is about the Devil, for others it is about alternative spirituality. The word occult literally means, “hidden”. What are more interesting then mysteries? And if only a few of these mysteries are actually true, then it means our perception of what is real is incomplete. I like the idea mysteries still exist!
David! Well, I think we’re kindred spirits, my dear. I agree that the mystery is the beauty of life. I try to immerse myself in all of the wonders of the journey, and take pleasure in the discovery! Glad you stopped by! By the way, when it comes to the Occult, you’re the expert!
Nat, I remember how you would make me watch these god awful documentaries back in the day. I admit some were interesting, but for the most part, they were twisted. And it appears that you haven’t changed one bit. Which is good, because I like my Nattie just a little on the twisted side! She wouldn’t be Nattie if she wasn’t! Love you sweet cheeks!

Natalina, I love HR Giger, and have a couple of great books on him. Anton LaVey is a crazy character, turned out to be a bit of a charlatan, didn’t he?

I love HR Giger as well. You should watch those documentaries if you get a chance in your busy schedule! They’re the full docs, and sooo enjoyable.
If I would have had the opportunity to meet Anton, I probably would have given him a high five. Just because he was such a good showman. Little substance, great provocateur, yes?
I’ve read very little Colin Wilson, although I have a few books of his lying around in my “must read” pile. Fascinating character.
