I am not one to believe in Vampires or anything of the sort. But I do believe people believe in it. The same for people in those days. And that made them do some craze stuff. I was reading about that Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Wow she was a freaky bitch. There was no proof to the bathing in the blood or drinking it. It’s all myth. But what was true is that she killed 100′s of women. Tortured them and in ways that makes any persons stomach turn. She was into dark shit and weird believes.. Actually made the girls play out sexual acts with her and if they seem offended or not into it, it was the last of them. But then again she also made the ones she liked the most suffer the most when she got board. Like I said weird but interesting I will post the link if you keen to read up on her…

wow, this was very interesting watching people fight over all this… I mean, come on, isn’t it all stories, who would really know? thats like saying everything else is true just because someone else says it is. or maybe not believing just because there isn’t any proof. for all we know it could be true. who really knows… anyway. It was interesting all the same. and I hope that all you hungarian and romanian people can settle all this without fighting. it seems to me that you are acting alot like the families in romeo and juliet only in country not family.

Vlad is typical Slavic name (Russian, Croatian, Slovak, Czech, etc). Not Hungarian, not Romenian. It says nothing but it’s hardly possible to decode history with poor language knovedge. Name Vlad has no equivalent in other languages.
Elzabeth/Erzeber/Alzbeta is Hungarian name and has equivalent in most languages.

All that comes to mind when reading this crap is: are you kidding me? You should read more history my friends because you are soooooo far off…. amazing what people can think of. Vlad was Romanian, he died defending Romanian land, Transylvania was part of Austro-Hungary at some point in history but it was also part of the Ottoman empire, does that mean that it is full of Turks? Fire – Dracula had nothing to do with the vampire myth and only someone who has no knowledge of who he was could say that. You want proof that he was Romanian? His name was not ZOLTAN, it was VLAD, he did not rule over Hungary, but over Wallachia. I don’t know why Hungarians have always had this urge to take what is not theirs. Again…Vlad had nothing to do with the vampire stories of the day and no sane, well read Romanian would say that he was. You Hungarians can claim whatever, we don’t care, just mind your own country and history and stay out of ours.

I’m not much for the Vampire myths of Hungary but I do know that according to my families legendary history they were supposedly the cause of our fall from the throne. My family carries the name Farkas which means Wolf in Hungarian. According to history a man whose family was thought to be one of these vampire clans brought information about the royal family to the public and the witch and werewolf trials of Hungary began. The stories of Vampires and Werewolves in Europe have been told long before Vlad or Elizabeth. They were just two that made the stories famous and cared about into todays society.

1: Dracula isn’t his name it’s VLAD Tepes. And you fail to give any proof that he was Romanian. Fact is then Romania was part of the HUNGARIAN empire, and now Hungarians HATE Romanians.
2:Romanians are always claiming that Vlad was Romanian, which inturn concludes that they are trying to hold claim to the originator of many modern day Vampire stories.
3Transilvania was also part of the HUNGARIAN empire, and Romanian nations DIDN’T EXIST because it was part of the HUNGARIAN empire for Christ’s sake.

1.Dracula was romanian 100% ,there’s nothing hungarian about him.Fact is that then as now romanians hated/hate hungarians.
2.Romanians aren’t interested in claiming any sort of origin for vampirism, and it’s demonstrated neither of the 2 nations are the point of origin.
3.Transilvania either under hungarian or romanian control was inhabited at any point in history by a majority of romanian nationals.

I am a descendnt of the king of franks “Clovis” and the king of huns “Attila” im french hungarian…. now these guys are all romored at htis pinot to be related and so forth, I dont claim to be a vampire but I get violently angry when im crossed, ive done time for being a psyco i think what this stems from is something harsh something stong and or powerfull will it be a warrior or king or vampire ….. the actuall act of drinking blood or eating meat thats raw or cooked blue it sensitivity to sunlight and being prone to anger as well as the blood craving….. i dont know what this all means but its preatty fucking closely related

I honestly don’t know of any Hungarian myths regarding vampires. The vampire myth is neither Hungarian nor Romanian. It’s a typical story from the Balkans, and it’s found in Serbian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian or Macedonian folklore.
I live in Western Transylvania, and last year I went on a trip in the Western Carpathians with my girlfriend (not where the Dracula story takes place). I bought a book on local folklore and it was quite exciting to read, as it contained lots of references to “Vampires.” Of course Romanians don’t call them vampires. The call these undead creatures Strigoi and Moroi. Even stranger is the fact that these “vampires” aren’t blood thirsty. The drink… well… cow milk. Oh yeah, and not all vampires are undead humans. Even cats can become vampires. And vampires aren’t made, they’re born.

I must say theat post about Vlad is intresting, but i must corect/say theat he was from Romania, he lived here, he has even descendends in Romania. And theat aproves theat is Romanian.

I will say that it seems a little misplaced, because this entire post was about the historical Vlad, not the fictional vampire. This article was primarily written to explore the concept that Vlad Tepes is as much a Hungarian figure as he was Romanian. So your sarcasm regarding fairy tales and myths just seems slightly outside the lines. So much so that I question whether you actually read it or made assumptions regarding its content.

That said, I would tend to agree with much of your assessment of Vlad.

Stupid children all the research everyone has done on vlad is crap. Let me begin by saying if you believe that Cain is the first vampire then shove the wooden stake up your ass that’s a load of crap. If you want to believe in Lilith as the mother of all vampires then your dumber then the first guy. Lilith never existed, and Cain lived in exiled by his family who grew old died and went to hell. Never came back never had any powers. Some of the previous was accurate but most of it nobody ever cared to write about. As to the women’s theory of Vlad eating while watching people die this is true but he then bathed in the blood as a way to keep himself young. (didn‘t work) he was nothing more then a obsessive compulsive schizophrenic. When his wife “killed herself ” that’s what changed him forever. At this point everyone reading this probably thinks I’m full of shit but if you use the mind power that you’ve spent on believing in supernatural shit I.E. vampires, werewolf’s, Zombies, Elf’s, and Santa then you can figure out who wrote this post. NO I AM NOT VLAD and for anyone who even had that thought go into your mothers room and slap her for giving birth to the complete dumb ass that you are. Now back to the subject. Bram Stoker was a famous author that’s it he wrote a story. If you want to believe in shit like that then I’ll let you in on a little secret the Terminator, Superman, and Santa do exist. As far as descendants Vlad had children (not of the night) as in he had sex with a woman and nine months later one popped out. Then he died but not before making WW2 look like an episode of Barney and friends. Now if I have pissed anyone off let me finish by saying that I don’t care. go and believe anything you want Santa, werewolves , hell believe that Wal-mart is giving you a good deal. then good for you.
