Strength.
That’s what I’m feeling. Unbelievable bone crunching strength.
I cast the girl aside and she crumples. She looks like a rag doll where the stitching has burst apart and made her head almost fall off. The image in my head makes me giggle. The giggle erupts into an uncontrolled burst of laughter, rolling in waves until I am spent.
She is definitely dead, no doubt about it. Why is that so funny? It makes me laugh all over again. What the hell is happening to me? I mean, she’s dead and I obviously just killed her. Why am I not appalled? Disgusted? What the hell is so funny about it? But I just can’t help it. I just lay on the ground and laugh until I hiccup and finally stop.
That’s when I remember him. Just sitting there.
He is watching me, with that same maddening look of amusement on his face.
“Who are you?” I ask.
