Five Conspiracy Theories That Ended Up Being True
For those who don’t take the every day world at face value… for those who do not trust the mainstream media, the conventional wisdom, or the political speeches… it becomes necessary to dig deeper. To read between the lines. To look beyond what we are presented with as truth. For those of US who refuse to accept much what we are told, there is a label. Conspiracy Theorist. Well, actually there are many labels. Crackpot, Tinfoil Hat Wearer, Wingnut, Paranoid Schizophrenic. But I am fine with Conspiracy Theorist. To my mind, there is nothing embarrassing or shameful about that label.

Conspiracies are commonplace. They happen all the time in our every day lives, and on grand scales. They’re part of human history. Conspiracies have happened and will continue to happen as long as mankind exists on this blue marble because it is in our very nature to keep secrets… to have agendas… to CONSPIRE. Once we accept this fact, we can move beyond the name calling and start looking at our world with honest eyes.
What bothers me is that people instantly assume that if something is a “conspiracy theory”, then it is likely make believe… a paranoid delusion of an unstable fringe segment of society. But I would warn naysayers to pause when pointing fingers of disdain at Conspiracy buffs.
Because sometimes… Conspiracies turn out to be true.
1. M K-U L T R A
Once upon a time, Conspiracy Theorists alleged that the CIA was conducting covert mind control experiments on civilians. The government denied denied denied ever taking part in such things. Why… it would be against everything we stand for!
In 1975, a group called the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities (Aka the Church Committee), made known to the world that in fact such a program did exist, and sworn testimony was entered into the public record regarding the criminal use of LSD induced torment and psychological torture (as well as physical) inflicted upon human beings by the CIA.
Even after these findings, the U.S. Government remained tight lipped on the subject, still relegating the topic of MK-Ultra to the fringe in most people’s minds. In 1995, President Bill Clinton issued a public apology for the program, eliminating any doubt that such programs existed.

2. B o h e m i a n G r o v e
For years, Conspiracy Theorists claimed that the rich and famous met annually in the middle of the woods, held ceremonies wherein they worshiped a giant stone owl, burned effigies of human bodies, and basically did all sorts of weirdy weirdo things one would consider unbecoming of the power players in government, media, and corporate America.
This is the kind of Conspiracy Theory that earns people the previously mentioned unsavory labels. It is too far out… too insane… impossible.
Except that it turned out to be completely true.
The mainstream media started sniffing around the Grove in Sonoma Country, CA. Soon, reports were being filed by ABC, CBS, NBC…. all of whom confirmed that Bohemian Grove not only exists, but that all of the other fantastical tales about it are true. Now, members claim that the ceremonies are just for a laugh, but… they are real.
Members include former and sitting U.S. Presidents, Media Moguls, Corporate Leaders, Senators and Congressmen, Military Officials, and more. In 2010, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch delivered the Lakeside Talks. Former and current members include(d):
George Bush Jr. and Sr.

Now that we’ve had a brief who’s who, let’s take a look specifically at what they do. Aside from their crazy owl worshiping, human effigy burning, alleged prostitution partying…. what else do these elite gentlemen get up to at the Grove? Well, they talk about upcoming world events, policies, laws and legislation, etc. It is said that many of the nefarious things that have come about in U.S. history began as a Lakeside Talk at Bohemian Grove. Things like The Manhattan Project, to name one.
But you want to know more about the rituals, right? Well, here is a short video about the Bohemian Club, which features near the end some footage captured during an infiltration of the Grove by Alex Jones (I want to add here that while this is real footage, some of the conclusions people have come to are speculative. For example, I am unable to determine the origin of the theory that the Giant Owl is Molech or Moloch, the Canaanite diety to which babies were sacrificed. In my research, Molech was never represented as an Owl, but rather a Bull. I cannot find anywhere where Grove members refer to the Owl as anything other than the “Owl of Bohemia”. That said, it makes the performance no less creepy. Just wanted to put that out there for those who want to come to their own conclusions):

President Bill Clinton was chosen, for some reason, to be the one to address many of the wrongs done to our Nation and citizens well before he was President. Such is the case with the horrifying Tuskegee Experiment.
The United States government did something that was wrong—deeply, profoundly, morally wrong. It was an outrage to our commitment to integrity and equality for all our citizens. . . . clearly racist.
—President Clinton’s apology for the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment to the eight remaining survivors, May 16, 1997
Between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Government, specifically the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS), conducted a terrible experiment on 399 African American men without their knowledge or consent. The men who were infected with syphilis (although most of them didn’t know it) were tricked into becoming part of a study that was supposed to determine how syphilis effects African Americans differently than Whites. By design, most of the study participants were poor sharecroppers, and thus they were taken advantage of and exploited. They were lured in with promises of “Free Health Care” (many had never seen a doctor in their lives), and were told that whatever was ailing them would be healed.
Rather than being told they had the deadly disease Syphilis, they were told simply that they had “bad blood”. The primary medicine they were given was the “pink pill”, which was nothing more than aspirin. Ultimately, what these Government doctors wanted was bodies to autopsy. Therefore it was not in their interest to heal them.
In fact, when many of the test subjects were drafted, they were to undergo Syphilis treatment. The PHS stepped in and asked the Draft board to exclude test subjects from treatment. The board complied. Later, when penicillin was distributed to Americans suffering from syphilis, the members of the Tuskegee Experiment were denied the drug. Their value was in their dead bodies… curing them would defeat the purpose. “As I see it,” one of the doctors involved explained, “we have no further interest in these patients until they die.”
By the end of the experiment, 28 of the men had died directly of syphilis, 100 were dead of related complications, 40 of their wives had been infected, and 19 of their children had been born with congenital syphilis.
In recent weeks, it has come to light that our Government was involved in other such disturbing experiments. It has recently been uncovered that 60 years ago, the United States infected hundreds of people in Guatemala with Gonorrhea and syphilis, including many mental patients. What’s worse, infected patients were encouraged to spread the disease to others. This time it fell on the OTHER Clinton to apologize. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said of the experiments by the PHS:
“Although these events occurred more than 64 years ago, we are outraged that such reprehensible research could have occurred under the guise of public health…We deeply regret that it happened, and we apologize to all the individuals who were affected by such abhorrent research practices.”

This one is for all those who doubt Conspiracies that claim the U.S. Government could become involved with Terrorism on American soil.
Operation Northwoods was a plan by the CIA to carry out terrorist attacks on American soil, and blame them on Cuba, as a pretext for possible war and to drum up the support of U.S. citizens. The plan stated that the aim was to “develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington.”
The operation was drafted by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and signed by the Secretary of Defense. Within the plan was a call to create real or simulated attacks on U.S. civilian and military targets.
Although the plan eventually was sidelined, it serves as a stark reminder that Governments ARE capable of formulating attacks on their own citizens in the interest of war. The Northwoods documents had been rumored for some time, but eventually left the realm of conspiracy and entered reality during the declassification of documents related to JFK in 1997. I’ve uploaded the full Northwoods papers, and have highlighted a few key points for you here:

5. T e s t i m o n y of N a y i r a h
On October 10, 1990, a 15 year old girl from Kuwait named “Nayirah” testified during a Congressional hearing that she witnessed atrocities being carried by Iraqis in Kuwait hospitals during the Iraq invasion. As she sobbed before the microphone she told awful tales. “While I was there, I saw the Iraqi soldiers come into the hospital with guns, and go into the room where… babies were in incubators. They took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators, and left the babies on the cold floor to die.” Christian Science Monitor, 9/6/2002; Los Angeles Times, 1/5/2003; Public Relations
Her agonizing stories helped to inflame public sentiment against Iraq, and eventually fueled support for U.S. invasion, resulting in the first Gulf War.
Some doubt the veracity of the testimony, but her account was upheld as factual. Much too late, after the war, human rights investigators looked into the charges and the truth was revealed. “Nayirah” is actually the daughter of Saud Nasir al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to the US. She was coached in acting and presentation by PR firm Hill & Knowlton, which had a $11.9 million contract from the Kuwaiti royal family to win support for a US-led intervention against Iraq. Is is doubted that “Nayirah” was even in the country at the time that she says these baby killings were happening.
It in uncertain how many people were aware that she was lying, but it is clear that she provided EXACTLY what was needed to promote the war that George H.W. Bush so desperately wanted to wage. The following video shows a bit of the “Nayirah” testimony, and the resultant way in which is was used to vilify Iraqis and facilitate a public desire for retaliation.
