Most people with Asperger's - which is claissified as a form of autism - are truly gifted in many areas including mathematics etc. I would really recommend reading a book called Born on a Blue Day by Daniel Tammet. He is a relatively high functioning autistic savant and reading about his growing up autistic is heartbreaking but he has these amazing abilities. Numbers have shapes, emotions are seen as colours and he can tell you what any day of the week was if you give him the date and he learns very difficult languages at an alarming speed.
