Jesus Statue Struck by Lightning

Surely there is no clearer sign that something is amiss than when the ginormous statue of Jesus Christ at the Solid Rock Church has been smote. Smited? Smitten? Anyway, its gone.
The six story (62 ft) statue in Monroe, Ohio was struck by lightning on Monday, igniting a huge fire, and eventually leaving nothing behind but the charred metal skeletal remains of what was once affectionately named “Touchdown Jesus”; so nicknamed because of the giant arms of the statue reaching skyward.
Here are some before and after images.
The strangest part of this incident is that this is not the first time Jesus has been the victim of nature’s electrical wrath.
The famous 130 ft. Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janiero was struck in 2008, singeing his fingers and eyebrows. In 2007, the 33 ft Jesus statue at the Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, Colorado was struck, causing poor Jesus to lose an arm.
And let’s not forget the fact that actor James Caviezel was struck by lightning in 2003 while filming “The Passion of the Christ.” What character was he playing? Oh yeah. Jesus.
So, what can we learn from this? Has the Seventh Seal been broken? Has God finally had enough of all these graven images he warned us about? Or is it simply proof that Mother Nature is no respecter of Religious Iconography. You get in the way… you’re gonna get hit.
My advice? Just to be on the safe side… keep your kids away from Jesus statues. Just in case.
Here is some footage caught of the statue in flames.

God shows to the people that Jesus is not God, Jesus was just a Prophet of God. This lightening is God’s answer to those who say that Jesus is God or the Son of God. Otherwise if God was Jesus, he would never strike his own representation. Anyway, God is far higher, he is the True Master of the Universe.
