Extraordinary Thursday Video Post: Anton LaVey and Church of Satan

Natalina doesn’t shy away from controversy!  This topic has been requested by a number of readers, and in my opinion is very interesting.  The late Anton LaVey, High Priest of The Church of Satan as well as the author of The Satanic Bible, is a fascinating character in Occult culture and pop culture.  And the word “character” is apt when describing him.

The man was a master of propaganda, and his product was not Satanism.  It was Anton LaVey.  Mixed in with his perverse Black Masses and provocative film and literature was a man who wanted to be accepted by the glitterati.  He did everything he could to entice celebrities to join him and befriend him.  And they did.

What I’ve included here is a full documentary Speak of the Devil, presented by Anton Szandor LaVey himself.  It contains his philosophy,  and his story.  If found it very interesting.  While I think he was a scoundrel in many ways, he was also quite intelligent.  He knew what he was doing.  If nothing else, he was entertaining.

The rest of the videos are the 6 parts of the 1970 Documentary Satanis – The Devil’s Mass.  About the early days of the Church of Satan. Features interviews with Anton Szandor LaVey, his followers and some of his neighbors. The scenes of the rituals were removed due to nudity.  It is a crazy entertaining documentary.
