Extraordinary Intelligence 100th Post!

That’s right.   It almost passed me by, but yesterday as I was perusing my blog, as I do because it is a darn good blog, I realized that my Chupacabra post was post #99.

I pondered the possibilities.  One hundred posts is a nice little milestone.  I had to think of something special.   But what topic is worthy of such a distinction?  What topics haven’t I touched on?  At first, I thought I would do something about MKULTRA, a major area of interest for me.  Then I thought I could do a fun discussion about Sea Monsters (I know, my mind is indeed a wonder to behold).  Then I started thinking about all of the new readers that have subscribed in recent weeks.  I’ve been dwelling on this all day, and I think I have come to a decision.

Pack your bags and tie your shoes, it is time for an Extraordinary Intelligence Retrospective.  Cue the intro music! (I’m thinking perhaps an Aria from Mephistophele by Arrigo Boito would be appropriate)

Fair warning, this post is self indulgent.

I’m not going to rehash my pillar posts about specific topics.  You can easily find those through the categories and tags.  What I’ve really enjoyed about Extraordinary Intelligence readers is how you’ve embraced my posts that are a bit more personal.  I really didn’t know if I would go that direction with this site at first. But, ya know what?  Even if it means that I am a crazy broad with bats in her belfry, I dig the subject matter on this blog.  I’ve been fascinated with the paranormal and conspiratorial my whole life, and it just seemed appropriate to let that shine through every once in a while.  Oh, and in keeping with the personal nature of this post, all of the images are here because I like them, not because they have doodleysquat to do with what I’m writing about.

I think the best introduction here would be via the following post, which explains in depth why I am drawn to the supernatural, and how it relates to the rush I get from being scared.  My grandmother always used to say I am “touched”, which I always thought was really sweet until it was explained to me that she meant that I’m odd.  I prefer avant-garde.   My friend Angie and I discovered that the definition of “Quirky” is agreeably curious.  I like that.  That’s me.  Anyway, onto the post.

Another thing I’ve enjoyed is showing a bit of that good old Midwestern charm.  I suppose we’re all a little bonkers up here in the North Country.  Maybe it’s the fact that we get approximately 3 months of sunshine per year, and then it’s back to the blizzards.  In an effort to display just how quixotic the people of this region are, I wrote this:

I suppose you can learn a lot about a person based on what they read.  I did one post all about my favorite online writers, and received a great deal of feedback from readers saying that they too enjoyed these sites.  For those of you who may have missed out, I’d urge you to check out this post, and visit the writers highlighted herein:

Magic, Nightmares, and Vampires: Extraordinary Blogs

I’d also like to add the following sites to the list.  I frequent all of these blogs and websites on a nearly daily basis, so I’m certain that you’ll enjoy them as much as I do.

Area51.org:  This is a great forum that features all of the best paranormal web sites available online (of course Extraordinary Intelligence has been added to the list… Scroll down the page a bit and you’ll find me!) and you’re bound to find something here that tickles your fancy.

Coasttocoastam.com:  I could talk about Coast to Coast Am until I’m blue in the face.  Best radio show ever dedicated to everything mysterious and magical.

Cultprojections.com:  If it is a little bit of cult cinema that you’re craving, let Bruno Dante guide you through some of the best of the best. From familiar titles to off the radar gems, you’re sure to find something worth renting on your next trip to Blockbuster.

Brought to Life:  History of Medicine:  I could get lost in this site for hours at a time.  Featuring a collection of real medical oddities that are all part of the collection of the Science Museum at Blythe House, there are literally thousands of curiosities in this cabinet, and is the next best thing to actually visiting the place.

One of my all time favorite posts was my fun with photoshop adventure.  It has to be seen to be believed, and I really want you all to check it out for a glimpse into my corrupt cranium.  I am a strange one.

And finally, there are a few things I’ve posted that haven’t gotten a whole lot of love, and I’d like to share them with you, because I thought they were wicked interesting, and you will too.  Here they are:

The King Bird Fifty Mystery

Chanson de l’Ange, a retelling of “The Phantom of the Opera”: Interview with Author Paisley Swan Stewart

Today is The Day of Blood

Well, that’s about it folks.  Thanks for helping to make this fun little project of mine even more rewarding.  I’ve got a lot of excitement in store.  I’m currently working on a few interviews, including a psychic medium, a handwriting analyst, a Luciferian, and a few that are too big to disclose just yet.

If you have a story you’d like to share or a talent that you think might be of interest to our readers, you can email me right here:

On a final note, I’d like to point out that this Blog was born on Friday the 13th.  This was my very first entry here on E.I.  Awwww.  Memmmorieeees…

Awww, thanks Jo! The secret to my youthful glow is Diet Coke and coconut rum!

  3. Liz Liz says:

Congratulations on your 100th post, Natalina. It must be the coconut rum, rather than the Diet Coke, that keeps you young. Because I drink heaps of diet coke. And I’m sure I don’t look any younger than I really am. Maybe I just need to start adding coconut rum to it. :)

  4. extraordinaryintelligence natalina says:

Thanks Liz! I would recommend Malibu rum. Apply it liberally to your Diet Coke, and watch the years just fade away!
